Paediatric Palliative Care Summit: Foundations, Focus and Horizons

The Summit will be a highly interactive event focusing on themes from the recently published A Practical Guide to Palliative Care in Paediatrics 4th edition (the Greenbook). It will be an occasion to celebrate 25 years of the Greenbook with reference to the past, present and future of paediatric palliative care. 

Thursday 12 September 2024 - Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
An interactive all-day Summit hosted by Rachel Callander, paediatric palliative care consumer representative and professional key-note speaker, including a plenary session from Joan Marston, a highly renowned international paediatric palliative care nurse and leader. Joan was the Founding Chair and then Chief Executive of International Children's Hospital Network (ICPCN).

Friday 13 September 2024 - Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
Option of:

1. Communication Workshop: Interactive half day communication workshop facilitated by Rachel Callander.
   OR
2. EPEC Pediatrics Train the Trainer Workshop: for health professionals with clinical experience in palliative care focussing on teaching the international EPEC Paediatric course within the Australian context - if you are unsure whether this course is right for you, please contact us before purchasing a ticket (limited spaces available and pre-requisite online learning required). 
   

Saturday 14 September 2024 to Sunday 15 September 2024 - Queensland Children's Hospital 
EPEC Paediatrics two-day interactive course held at the Queensland Children’s Hospital for health professionals who care for children covering a broad range of topics including an introduction to paediatric palliative care, goals of care and advance care planning, communication, symptom management and self-care for professionals.

*NB. A separate ticket is required for each day of the summit, except Saturday and Sunday which are grouped together. The summit has two ticket types - "Medical & GPs'"and "other" which includes nurses, allied health, medical trainees, chaplains, community professionals and all others with a professional interest in Paediatric Palliative Care. 

Purchasing a Thursday Summit ticket in addition to Friday and Weekend ticket types will automatically provide you with a discount for the full event. If the ticket type you would like is sold out in the ticket purchasing system, please contact us as there may be additional availability of your preferred ticket type.
