The Riverine Plains New Edge Microbials Gala Fundraising  Dinner

Thursday 24th August, 6pm - 11pm.

The Riverine Plains Alvan Blanch Australia Farm Tour
Friday 25th August, 8am-2pm.

The Expo will have a focus on helping farmers future-proof and proactively manage their businesses in a rapidly changing global market. We’ll have expert speakers and panel sessions, including a farmer panel, to share experiences in collating and using data to make better farming decisions.

Capturing data and using it to make decisions is becoming more important, especially when it comes to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. Banks, insurance providers and end-users are increasing their scrutiny of our farming and business practices, which has the potential to impact our capacity to operate.

Sharing data with end-users is one way that farmers can demonstrate their sustainability credentials and gain access to markets. But what exactly are the types of data needed, and how will farmers be required to collect and report on this in the future?

To address this, speakers at the Innovation Expo will answer key questions like:

  • How can farmers proactively and efficiently approach data collection to meet supply chain requirements?
  • Are there technologies that can help make data collection and reporting easier?
  • What is the role of AI and can we trust it?
  • What about privacy?
  • Can this data be used to help improve our on-farm decision making and help us become more sustainable in the long-term?

Following the Innovation Conference, the Riverine Plains New Edge Microbials Gala Fundraising Dinner will be a fantastic opportunity to get together for some great food and laughs with well-known comedian, Jean Kittson. We'll also raise funds for the Riverine Plains Scholarship Program before the band opens the dance floor.

The Riverine Plains Alvan Blanch Australia Farm Tour will be held on the morning of Friday 25 August, 2023 (Day 2) and will take a practical look at how farmers are adopting and employing new technologies to make better and more sustainable decisions.
