Woven Lampshade

Join us for a full day of creative weaving at the beautiful Gang Gang Gallery.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design and create your own one-of-a-kind woven lampshade using natural fibres and random weaving techniques. Your finished piece can be hung from the ceiling or styled on a lamp stand.

Participants may bring their own lampshade frame or choose from a limited selection of provided drum and birdcage style frames. When you purchase your "lampshade frame included" ticket you will be asked to select from one of the following frames (NB all the frames are black and have a standard 28mm internal diameter ring fitting):

Drum Lampshade Frame - H: 28cm, D: 43cm

Drum Lampshade Frame - H: 24cm, D: 35cm

Bird Cage Lampshade Frame - H: 36cm, D: 29cm

Alongside the making process, the workshop will also cover the basics of harvesting and preparing natural materials for basket weaving, offering insight into working sustainably with fibre.

No prior weaving experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
