Lily Mo, a former Biodiversity Officer at the City of Monash, helped develop the simplified Chinese version of the Gardens for Wildlife booklet monash-gardens-for-wildlife-chinese-version-v1.pdf and hosted several booklet launches across the municipality. Lily has also been a member of the Knox Environment Society indigenous nursery for over three years and currently co-manages the seedbank while serving as a regular salesperson. She gains on-site knowledge by regularly joining the Friends of Koolunga Native Reserve working bees and seeking self-directed training opportunities.
In this workshop, Lily will use Mandarin (and Cantonese when required) to introduce:
- Biodiversity in Knox
- Fascinating animals and plants across Knox
- Key threats to biodiversity
- Elements of creating a wildlife-friendly garden
- Council programs and community engagement to support biodiversity
- A brief introduction to garden pest management (e.g., possums and snails) through planting
This event is hosted by Knox Environment Society as part of the KES SpringFest.
