Calling artists, makers, repairers, crafters and the environmentally conscious to be part of the Art Beyond Waste Exhibition
Art Beyond Waste – Showcase your creativity by reimagining waste!
Did you know that Victoria is running out of landfill space? Reusing, recycling and repairing are just some of the actions we can take to reduce how much waste we generate.
Knox Council are calling for artists, makers, repairers and crafters to register their interest here in being part of Art Beyond Waste - a creative challenge to reimagine recycled, re-used & repaired materials. Art Beyond Waste is open to people aged 15+ who live, work or play in Knox.
Exhibition details
The exhibition will be hosted at Your Library, Miller’s Homestead in Boronia from Wednesday 4 June to Wednesday 16 July.
An opening event held on the evening of Friday 13 June.
The call for submissions open Friday 14 March and close Monday 12 May.
Submissions will be selected by a panel of Council Officers and community members. Successful participants will be notified Friday 23 May.
The exhibition will highlight the many ways that old items, that could be rubbish are reused or renewed, as either a repaired item, artwork or a creative reimagining (upcycling).
Beyond the exhibition, a selection of entries will be collated, photographed and installed in one of Knox’s light box galleries. This will extend the exhibition period and spread the word about the importance of reducing waste to new audiences.
Sign-up to find out more about the project including the exhibition's conditions of entry.
