The Brisbane Improv Festival is excited to be hosting 22 Improvisation Workshops as part of the 2023 Festival with facilitators from all over Australia and New Zealand.

Intro to Improv (Advanced Improvisers Only)
Facilitated by Jim Fishwick (Sydney, NSW)

Sometimes when you're off exploring the heights, you lose sight of where you started — the basics. This is a workshop for people with many years' experience improvising, revisiting some of the fundamental exercises we learned all those years ago, but now with fresh eyes, or at least the critical eye of our expertise. We'll go deep on our core skills, reconnect with our fundamental spontaneity, and troubleshoot some of the shortcuts and habits we've developed over the years.

Jim Fishwick is an award-winning theatremaker, writer and teacher. They are the general manager of Jetpack Theatre, creating experiential, interactive and immersive theatre, and the Artistic Co-Director of the New Zealand Improv Festival. .
