Unleash your creativity and craft your very own kite at the National Arboretum these school holidays! Decorate and personalise your kite before taking it out for a test flight at one of Canberra’s most picturesque spots.

If the weather isn’t suitable for flying, don’t worry! You can still enjoy the experience of making and decorating your own unique kite to take home, and bring it back on your next visit to the Arboretum.

Dates: 7, 14, 21 January 2025
Times: 2 sessions each day at 9:30am and 10:30am
Duration: 45 minutes
Price: $15 per kite kit 

Important Information

• Please ensure children have a drink bottle, sun protection and are dressed for the weather.
• This workshop is suitable for children aged 5 and up. 
• Parents or caregivers of children 7 years and under are required to stay and may attend for free. 
• Younger children (under 5) are welcome to join if accompanied and assisted by a parent or caregiver.
• If you or your child are unwell, please do not attend.
• Accessible bathroom and hand washing facilities are available in the Terrace Room.
• Meet at the Terrace Room. If you are unsure where this is, please ask at the Visitors Centre Information Desk.
