Every year on 25 March, we come together to say the names of the treasured babies and children we have loved and lost – to honour their memory while highlighting the profound impact of each of these deaths.

We warmly invite you to join us on Saturday, March 22nd 3:30pm-6pm for the annual Sydney Say Their Name Day Remembrance Service.  Following the Service there will be light refreshments and interactive activities to honour and share your child's name. A dedicated siblings space will offer activities centered around letters, encouraging them to celebrate their sibling by using the materials provided to share their name. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, we kindly ask that parents or guardians remain present to supervise young children.

During the service, you will have the opportunity to place a photo or memento of your loved one on a designated table as a personal tribute. If you wish to do so, please bring a meaningful item with you.

We are so grateful to have Heartfelt Photography joining us to capture the essence of this special service. Heartfelt is a volunteer organisation made up of incredibly compassionate professional photographers who gift precious photographic memories to bereaved families. Last year alone, over 340 volunteers provided 1,443 heartfelt sessions.

If you would prefer not to be included in any photos or videos, please let our event coordinator know—we completely understand and respect your wishes.

If you would like your baby’s name included on the Remembrance Wall, we kindly ask that you register by Wednesday, 13th March. While we will do our best to accommodate later registrations, we may not be able to include names received after this date.

All siblings, friends and family welcome!

Why Say Their Name?

When a baby or child dies, life as we know it stops - for parents, families and their wider communities.

This pain cannot be fixed, only carried. What makes this pain lighter to bear is often the simple acknowledgement of this reality from those who matter.

Saying a baby or child’s name alongside those who loved him or her is a powerful act of kindness and acknowledgement that requires no special knowledge or experience.

Say Their Name Day is a day for the whole community to demonstrate that every little life matters and deserves to be celebrated, and that bereaved families are deserving of all the support we can give.

Name by name, we're helping to break the stigma that prevents families from seeking support to help in their healing, in finding hope for the future, and in coping with their new “normal”.

Join with us this Say Their Name Day and together we can remember every little life and support bereaved families.

We understand that some cultures decline to speak the name of a life that has passed. Please know that at Red Nose we honour this tradition and would always adhere to what is acceptable for you and your family in this space of sharing and honouring a life loved.
