The April Family are returning to the Sydney live arena after a long break for their first full band show at Django this March.
The well respected Alt Country combo, featuring Kylie Whitney, Casey Atkins and Michael Carpenter, released two albums and an EP (including their #2 ARIA Country Chart album “House Of Cards”) before putting things on hold in early 2020. Part pandemic, and partly the need to stop and refocus, 2020 saw the band release the single “Fortune Teller”, but also start to refill their songwriting stocks, writing as a band for the first time. With a new album on the horizon for later in the year, the band is keen to reestablish themselves as a formidable live presence, with their souring harmonies, Whitney’s soulful twang on vocals and Atkins’ soaring guitar work.
