Repair, Recycle & Upcycle Workshop
Learn practical skills. Reduce waste. Connect with your community.
Have you ever caught your favourite jeans on a barbed wire fence, or wished you could give an old shirt a fresh new look instead of throwing it away?
Join Granite Borders Landcare and the talented local artisans from MAKE IT Tenterfield (Kay and Marie) for a creative, hands-on workshop where you'll learn practical skills to repair, refresh and transform clothing you already own.
Choose either the morning or afternoon session—both workshops offer the same activities.
Workshop 1:
Repair, Don't Replace
- Learn simple repair and upcycling techniques.
- Discover how to repair tears, refresh tired garments, add a little bling or turn those barbed-wire mishaps into something unique.
Bring along:
• A garment to repair (torn jeans, ripped shirt, missing button, loose hem etc.)
Workshop 2:
Connecting Nature Through Creativity
- Explore the beauty of nature through eco-printing.
- Create your own eco-printed T-shirt using leaves, plants and botanicals to transform it into a one-of-a-kind item to take home.
Bring along:
• A light-coloured cotton T-shirt or fabric item suitable for eco-printing.
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided.
No previous sewing or crafting experience is required but BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL!!
This project is supported by FRRR, through funding from the Australian Government's Future Drought Fund.
