Facilitator:

Hi, I’m Soraya Pickard — Arts Psychotherapist and founder of Real Connections Art Therapy on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. I create safe, welcoming spaces where children feel free to explore, express, and grow through the power of creativity.

I connect naturally with young people, meeting them where they’re at and allowing them the freedom to explore and express themselves in their own time and way. Whether it’s paint, clay, music, or imaginative play, I use a blend of creative and therapeutic techniques to help children build confidence, navigate big emotions, and feel more in control — all while having fun.

This holistic and person-centred program is thoughtfully designed and facilitated by me. I hold a BA in Arts Psychotherapy from the IKON Institute of Australia and am a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). With over five years’ experience in private practice, I’ve supported children and adults of all ages and abilities, always with a gentle, inclusive, and tailored approach to meet each individual’s needs and developmental stage.

I’m here to hold space, nurture creativity, and support children in discovering their strengths — one brushstroke, scribble, or sculpture at a time.
