In Group Mind you will explore how to improvise group scenes successfully for the stage.
Group Mind will hone your ability to work as a group and create scenes with multiple performers, as well as how to incorporate them into long form improvisation. Group Mind is the fourth and final class in Big Fork’s Improv Foundations program.
Specific skills and topics covered:
- Developing group mind
- Sharing focus in a group scene
- Creating characters to support the group
- Types of group scenes and games
- Heightened listening
- Intermediate long form techniques
Successful completion of Foundations 3: Characters is required to take this class. Exemption may be granted to improvisers with previous experience under certain circumstances, please contact the training director at training@bigforktheatre.com to discuss.
This course meets for 6 sessions that are each 3 hours long.

Big Fork Theatre's improvisational classes are beneficial for actors and comedians looking to add a new skill set to their performing repertoire. Improv is becoming increasingly desired when casting and can help performers adjust to any situation whether it be during an audition or in the rehearsal room.
Improvisation is an excellent way to improve your communication skills and confidence when speaking in public.
About Big Fork Theatre
Big Fork Theatre is dedicated to long form improvisation in the Chicago and New York style, as made famous by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Mike Meyers. Big Fork primarily focuses on comedic improvisation.
Big Fork's teachers have many years experience both in teaching and performing, many of whom have traveled around the world to learn from some of the best improv teachers there are. Our teachers are committed to creating a fun and enriching environment to learn in and grow the Brisbane improvisational community.
COVID 19
In line with the Queensland Government's requirements, all participants must be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination upon entry to the first class. Those with medical exemptions from their registered GP should send proof of this exemption to training@bigforktheatre.com ahead of the first class.
Refund Policy
Refunds up to 1 day before the event, Refunds are available until 1 day before the first class. Refunds can be applied for after classes have commenced but must be requested prior to the second class. Transfers may be considered after this time at the discretion of Big Fork Theatre.
