Are you a final year medical student concerned about the challenges of self-care, boundaries, and a safe culture in the workplace?

Join us on Wednesday, November 5 from 7pm – 7.45pm for a Zoom webinar on these important topics.

AMA (NSW) chair of council Dr Michael Bonning and AMA (ACT) president Dr Kerrie Aust will share essential guidance on how to look after yourself, support your peers, and advocate for a healthier system as you transition into the workforce.

Topics will include:

  • Sleep, nutrition, movement, time management, micro-breaks, mindfulness, and finding joy
  • Boundaries and workload placement pressures, exam season planning, digital hygiene, and avoiding toxic productivity
  • Building a safe culture through peer support and mentoring, navigating feedback, dealing with mistreatment/bullying, and fostering inclusivity
  • Accessing help such as university services, having a GP/psychologist, confidentiality basics, safety plans, and after-hours supports
  • Changing the system and how to protect yourself and your peers, understanding the written and unwritten rules, and the Every Doctor, Every Setting framework

There will be an opportunity for questions at the end of the webinar. Alternatively, please feel free to email your questions ahead of time to events@amansw.com.au, and we will endeavour to answer them during the session.
