January 2026 - AGM & Australian Whisky

Our first gathering for 2026 is locked in — and it’s a big one: our January tasting + the QMWS Grand Central Sept AGM.

👥 Annual membership $100 – first access to tastings & reduced entry 

January will be all Australian whiskies. We’ll announce the full line-up a little closer to the date — for now, save the spot and bring your curiosity.

Because of how the calendar falls, our first tasting is on Thursday 8 January — but every tasting for the rest of 2026 returns to our usual schedule: the first Wednesday of the month.

AGM: committee roles for 2026

We’ll be opening nominations and holding elections on the night. Have a think about a role you’d like to nominate for — either yourself or someone else.

Current roles / incumbents:

• Chieftain (Lachlan) — runs the club
• Excisor (Larry) — handles finances
• Scribe / Comms (Ren) — minutes, communications & email invites
• Gauger (Nath) — manages whisky stock & curates monthly line-ups
• Bard (Mark) — creates and recites the monthly poem
• Gaelic Advisor (Isobelle) — corrects our heroic attempts at Scottish pronunciations
• 12th Man (cursed role) — everyone elected disappears off the face of the earth (apply at your own risk)

If you’ve ever thought “I could help out with that” — this is your moment. The club runs best when we share the load, and it’s a great way to shape what 2026 looks like for the Sept.
