Parissa Bouas CD Launch featuring George Washingmachine -Bellingen Memorial Hall

Multi award winning, internationally renowned chanteuse, from The Hottentots, PARISSA BOUAS releases her long-awaited debut solo CD, ‘The Full Force of the Wind’. ‘The Full Force of the Wind’ is a beautiful blend of Billie Holiday meets Tom Waits in a Parisian nightclub, where Gypsies play songs of love and loss, with an occasional distinctly South American twist.

PARISSA will be launching her new CD at the Bellingen Memorial Hall, sharing the bill with and supported on stage by the gypsy swing jazz sounds of ‘Feel the Manouche’ ensemble, featuring the legendary George Washingmachine on violin and voice, Arthur Washington – guitar, Clare O’Meara - accordion, violin, vocal and Stan Valacos - double bass.

In 2012 PARISSA released her first single, ‘Sad Eyes’, which won the coveted SONG OF THE YEAR and BEST JAZZ SONG categories at the 2012 Dolphin Music Awards. In 2013 she won BEST JAZZ and BEST WORLD MUSIC for ‘The Full Force of the Wind’ and ‘Honey and Candlelight’.
