Attend, one, two, three ... or all workshops. The choice is yours!
Life can get pretty busy, and as much as we would all love to escape on a full weekend retreat, sometimes that's just not possible. It's also understandable that you might be drawn to just certain parts of a retreat. So with these two thoughts in mind, I've planned regular weekend mini workshops where you can join in for the times and sessions that best suit you.
You can join in for just one workshop or choose a few, however you choose to spend your time over the three days at Brighton, I know that there is something here that is just right for you, allowing you to feel thoroughly nurtured.
HERE ARE YOUR WORKSHOP OPTIONS:
1. A MORE PEACEFUL YOU with Dawn: Friday 15 June, 6–8 pm (Session capped at 20 people)
Gently unwind from the week with some easy-paced yoga, breath work and deep relaxation. During this workshop, Dawn will introduce you to a range of mindfulness practises to help you stay present and in the moment. We will spend time in guided meditation and explore the many health benefits of activating the body's relaxation response. This workshop includes a deep relaxation to leave you with a sense of inner harmony and stillness.
2. LITTLE LOTUS KIDS YOGA WORKSHOP with Tania: Sat 16 June, 9.30–10.45 am
Ages 6 yrs and upwards (Session capped at 18 children)
Tania will thoroughly delight your little ones with some active and easy to do kids yoga. This interactive workshop will be lots of fun and includes the creation of an origami lotus that everyone gets to make and take home with them to remember their playful morning with other like-minded mini yogis. We love to give you options so, you can either drop off your little ones and come back later, go on the walk with Dawn for coffee or you can stay on and observe the session if you’d like.
3. THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL - A HAPPY, HEALTHY GUT WORKSHOP AND COOKING CLASS with Andrea: Sat 16 June, 11.30am–1.30 pm (Session is capped at 15 people and includes time to enjoy eating our delicious lunch together)
Cultivating a happy healthy gut is one of the best things you can do for your overall health and vitality — and even your mood. Learn about the ingredients of a healthy gut, which include delicious food choices, activity, rest and meditation.
Andrea from The Green Gourmet will take you through simple steps to better gut health that anyone can make part of their daily lives. You'll then learn how to make good-for-your-gut golden dhal, addictively delicious fermented flatbreads (you won't believe how easy these are to make), and a zingy Sri Lankan chutney. Then we'll share our lunch together and chat about more ways you can care for your health through the food choices you make.
4. STRESS LESS — RELAX MORE with Dawn: Sat 16 June, 2.30–4.30 pm (Session capped at 20 people)
A soft and flowing afternoon session filled with sequences to alleviate stress, release tension and transform blockages within the physical body and energy systems. We explore movements to assist in maintaining a healthy spine and nervous system, all whilst working with the deeper thought, energetic and emotional layers of our being. This workshop includes an exploration of the rest and digest/fight and flight responses in our bodies and how creating balance through yoga and meditation can help generate more energy and focus in our daily lives.
5.CLUB YOGA with Dawn and DJ H: Sat 16 June, 5.30–7.30 pm (Session capped at 35 people and includes a pre session drink and … yes, there will be dancing - around 45 mins of just letting go and dancing).
Join Dawn and the vibrant DJ H for a Club Yoga session, where you'll be encouraged to move your body in some traditional yogic ways and sequences, along with some upbeat movement and dancing that's all tied up with a few giggles and lots of fun!. Originally created for large groups, Dawn has started rolling out mini Club Yoga sessions so that everyone can experience the joy of letting go and moving their bodies to energetic music alongside her other love — yoga.
6. ROLL AND RELEASE FULL BODY THERAPY BALL MASSAGE with Deanne: Sunday 17 June, 9.30–11.30 am (Session is capped at 20 people — Tune Up® balls provided for all participants)
This workshop with Deanne Kong http://www.flexyogaandmassage.com/ is an introduction to Yin Yoga techniques and Roll Model® therapy ball methods and is ideal for anyone carrying tension around their neck and shoulders from poor posture, work stress, sports, overuse or misuse of muscles, and from the heavy lifting that's part of being a new mum! You'll learn to give yourself a full body massage just about anywhere, anytime, using official Yoga Tune Up® therapy balls. The session also includes a yoga nidra meditation to leave you floating in bliss.
7. BLISSFUL OILS AND YOGA WORKSHOP with Dani: Sunday 17 June, 2–4 pm (Session capped at 20 people)
Slow down and spend a Sunday afternoon experiencing ways to bring about spiritual, emotional and physical wellness into balance through gentle Dru Yoga and using Young Living Essential Oils. Dani Caputo https://www.facebook.com/AbunDanceandYogaStudio/ brings over 20 years of teaching experience to her Dru Yoga and Yoga Dance Flow classes and will immerse you in ways to nurture and support your wellness. Experience how to apply these beautiful oils to improve your wellbeing, flavour your cooking, care for your family, skin and pets. Essential Oils and Yoga is a powerful combination! Come along and find out how.
