Here’s your chance to make music the easy way!

This two-hour ukulele workshop will have you playing a tune before the session is over. Learn the basics of playing the ukulele: how to hold your instrument, basic chords and strumming patterns, and what you need to get started. This is the perfect introduction into the Women’s Health Centre’s Beginners Ukulele Group which meets on Mondays, 12.15-1.15pm.

Music has been a healing force for centuries. Anyone who has played in a band or sung in a choir knows the feeling of connection and joy that comes with participating in music. And music also has many positive effects on our health and wellbeing; it can reduce stress and anxiety,

decrease pain, may improve immune functioning, may aid memory, helps us to exercise – and it’s a total brain workout.

The ukulele is the easiest of all instruments to learn. You only need a few chords and you can literally play hundreds of songs. It’s like having your own portable karaoke machine!

Price includes a take-home songbook and a ukulele you can borrow for the workshop
