Australian Funeral Directors Association

The Australian Funeral Directors Association (AFDA) is a public company, limited by guarantee that was formed in 1935 in recognition of the need to enhance and promote professional funeral standards within the funeral industry.
AFDA is widely recognised by Governments, the media and industry suppliers as the authoritative voice on all funeral matters. AFDA represents the interests of members in every State and Territory by an elected Board of 15 directors with a National Office and six Divisional Offices.
PURPOSE
The objective of the Australian Funeral Directors Association (AFDA) is to enhance and promote professional funeral standards, to provide strong representation as a lobbyist within all tiers of government, to promote AFDA both within the Association and throughout the wider community and to improve and further develop services to Member
MISSION
Promoting professional funeral standards.
GOALS
Lobby Members rights and interests; influence key decision makers and promote the Association.
Provide value-adding services to Members, retain existing Members and attract new Members.
Ensure a diverse, sustainable and valued association and achieve good governance and operational excellence.
Advance the knowledge, quality and performance of funeral industry professionals.
