Adelaide Wind Orchestra

Adelaide Wind Orchestra is a newly formed modern wind orchestra, founded by past and present Elder Conservatorium (Adelaide Uni) students

The idea for Adelaide Wind Orchestra (AWO) was conceived in 2012 by past and present Elder Conservatorium of Music (University of Adelaide) students, who perceived a lack of professional performance opportunities in wind orchestras in Australia after tertiary study. Their vision has been brought to fruition through collaboration with peers, whose specific expertise helped the idea become reality.

Our inaugural performance in 2012 was a huge success and we are following up with a 5 concert series for 2013 featuring 3 Australian Premieres on the following dates, at 8pm: 1 March, 17 May, 5 July, 27 September, and 1 November. This concert series is outlined clearly at www.awo.org.au via the tab to 2013 Concert Series at the top of the page.
