Buxton Netball Club
Buxton Netball Club was formed in 1982 within the Village of Buxton by a group of parents wanting to introduce their daughters to the sport of netball, this interest soon led to children from surrounding villages such as Hill Top wanting to also become involved. In May of 1992 our club officially became incorporated.
Over the years we have seen three changes of playing uniform, changes to the playing rules of netball, expansion of the courts at Tahmoor sports ground, two of our members’ recipients of the Wollondilly Australia Day Senior Sports person of the year, the same two members each giving twenty continuous years of service to the club. The club has had numerous representative players, two academy players plus two indoor NSW representative players, let’s not forget we have been joined by numerous male players too. We have done well in the umpiring department with two of our umpires attaining their National C Badge.
In 2011, the club is entering its 29th year in the Wollondilly Netball Association Competition and is entering its 7th year in the Southern Highlands Netball Association Competition.
The club has had many grandfinal winning sides within this time; we encourage sportsmanship and inclusion for all players irrespective of player ability, age or gender.
