Fossils Rock Festival
The Fossils Rock Festival is held throughout July at Parachilna in South Australia.
To celebrate the ancient Ediacara fossils and geology of the world renowned Flinders Ranges, the Prairie Hotel and friends will be hosting numerous events throughout the month of July to coincide with the fossil research season.
Ediacara Fossil Experience tours provide visitors a unique opportunity to see the world-famous fossil record of early animal life — the Ediacara biota. This experience takes you back through one of the most important chapters in Earth history recorded in the rocks of the Flinders Ranges.
Ancient Seafloor Dining – a menu inspired from the ancient seafloor, a celebration of First Life Fossils, will be held in the historic Nilpena Woolshed. The Prairie Hotel is introducing some “Fossil Food” to complement its creative Feral Food Menu. Inspired by the First Life animal remains from the Ediacara time period found near Parachilna, a Palaeontology Pub Grub Menu will include sea salt and native pepper Stingray or a Seabed Pot Pie.
