Our History

Greater Western Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) in fact commenced business as Blacktown BEC in 1994.

Some years after, Blacktown BEC incorporated the Baulkham Hills Shire under its BEC auspices and provided full BEC services for small to medium business.

Our delivery of BEC services for Greater Western Sydney is predominantly provided from our Parramatta & Blacktown offices providing Business Advisory Services under the GWSBAS program and integrated BEC services.

In Greater Western Sydney we trade under several business names such as our overall Greater Western Sydney BEC, Parramatta Region BEC, Cumberland Region BEC, and Parramatta City and District BEC.

Our Greater Western Sydney BEC services are also provided for the Local Government areas of Baulkham Hills, Strathfield, Fairfield, Auburn and Holroyd. Business Guidance services are provided free of charge at Local Council Chambers and bookings can be made on the ‘contact us’ page.

Further more, Greater Western Sydney BEC was born to respond to the needs of those in this area of Sydney who needed their small businesses facilitated and assisted.

It was an initiative and extension of the greater Australian BEC network.

BEC Australia is a not-for-profit organisation whose primary role is to support and grow the national network of Business Enterprise Centres and provide representation on behalf of its members to key stakeholders.

Business Enterprise Centres are independent, community-based organisations established under a company structure with boards of directors. They provide free and confidential advice and assistance to existing and potential small business owners and operators.

Business Enterprise Centres that are recognised as the first and best point of contact for small business operators seeking quality business information, advice and guidance.
