Lords Estate

Our chapel, which is now available for bookings, is situated on an historic parcel of land in Seven Hills, donated by Phillip Pearce and his family who were pioneer settlers in the Seven Hills – Kings Langley area.

In 1863 a small Gothic-style hall was built on the site, consisting of brick walls and a corrugated iron roof. The hall was used both as a school and a church for services until 1880.

On 13th October, 1880 the larger Gothic-style chapel was consecrated, consisting of a nave, chancel, porch and vestry, again built of brick with a corrugated iron roof. The chapel features Cedar beam arches and panelled ceilings, stained glass and lead-light full length windows, vestry and a cellar. With the opening of the new chapel, the original building became the “Church Hall”.

The beautiful historic patina has been preserved on the outside walls, but inside a blank canvas awaits. Freshly lime-washed walls, original timber floors and the magnificent cedar arches and ceilings are highlighted with a sophisticated architectural lighting system that can be programmed to complement your personal theme or extended with your own lighting.

In 1891 the rectory was built – a large two-storey Victorian style residence with magnificently proportioned rooms bathed in timeless elegance. This is now the residence and offers a formal dining room, beautiful drawing room and an upstairs Bridal Suite. The magnificent Grand Staircase is a stunning backdrop for photography.
