The Essential IR Toolkit for Managers

Managing Psychosocial Hazards in the Workplace

Course Outline

From 1 July 2026, changes to NSW Work Health and Safety laws will require employers to either comply with applicable Codes of Practice or demonstrate an equivalent or higher standard of health and safety. This includes the Code of Practice: Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work, making it more important than ever for Club Managers to understand their obligations and take a proactive approach to managing psychosocial risks.

As Managers navigate the daily pressures and demands of operating their Clubs, it is critical they are equipped with the knowledge and practical tools to identify, assess and control psychosocial hazards that may impact the health, safety and wellbeing of both employees and management.

This webinar will cover:

  • An overview of the 1 July 2026 WHS legislative changes
  • Understanding psychosocial hazards and employer obligations
  • Common psychosocial hazards in Club workplaces
  • Recognising warning signs and risk factors
  • Conducting psychosocial risk assessments
  • Implementing effective control measures
  • Consultation, reporting and documentation requirements
  • Practical strategies to create and maintain a psychologically safe workplace

This session is designed to provide practical guidance and help Managers understand what the new compliance requirements mean for their Clubs.
