Our Humble Beginnings
The Problem
During the Football World Cup in 2006, Jay Gaibisso thought it would be a great idea to get some friends together to watch Australia play Brazil at the IMAX Theatre in Darling Harbour. He sold 500 tickets and collected $12,500 in cash, cheques and direct debits over a two week period. Keeping track of the ticket sales was a nightmare…
…there had to be a better way!
The Idea
An online event and ticket sales website that would allow anyone that was trying to organise an event or function, no matter how big or small to:
- List their event online
- Market their event to the public, their target market or share it with their friends
- Sell tickets to the event
- Manage the sales and administration
The Solution
Jay teamed with small business owner Dany Gruosso and formed My Tickets Sales Pty Ltd in October 2006 to realise this idea. They brought in Internet & Marketing expert Matt Freedman. Matt worked with Jay & Dany to design and specify the system and develop a marketing plan. In March 2007 My Ticket Sales Pty Ltd was renamed to Sticky Tickets Pty Ltd and in July 2007, the Sticky Tickets website was launched.
